WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS – JULY 30, 2021

Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers, in their own countries and abroad.

To fight this heinous crime, in 2013 the United Nations General Assembly declared the 30 July as the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
Subsequently, the offense of human trafficking is punishable by imprisonment for a term of not less than five years and a fine .

The campaign portrays survivors as key actors in the fight against human trafficking and focusses on the crucial role they play in establishing effective measures to prevent this crime, identify and rescue victims and support them on their road to rehabilitation.

End Trafficking International, as part of its corporate agenda is organizing a campaign, in conjunction with Equity Chambers, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin to fullfil this goal.

Taking place on 30th July every year, we will continue to raise awareness of human trafficking victims and the protection of their rights.
